France regains its title and wins the 2024 Bakery World Cup/la Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie after sixteen years! Once again, our excellent bakers have upheld the quality of French boulangeries. Félicitations and congratulations to the French team and to the two bakers representing France Haruka Atsuji and Jérémy Massing.

La Boulangerie is the symbol and flagship of French gastronomy. It is the French pride and heritage. The French baguette which was finally inducted in 2022 into the UNESCO World Heritage List or more precisely, the “Artisanal know-how and culture of baguette bread” has officially been inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity!

Congratulations again to Nina Métayer, the pastry chef who was voted the World’s Best Pastry Chef / Meilleure pâtissière au monde by the International Union of Bakers and Pastry Chefs on October 25, 2023, in Munich, Germany. It is the first time that the International Union of Bakers and Pastry Chefs has awarded the prestigious title and prize to a woman!

With a solid reputation, Nina has established herself as one of the most influential female chefs of her generation: “This award means a lot to me, especially as I started out in baking. I’m very happy to represent France and contribute to promoting the quality of the work of artisan bakers and pastry chefs around the world,” she said.
