“La vie est belle,” a French expression meaning “life is beautiful,” is about choosing your own path to happiness and inspiring others. Since 2014, La vie est belle de Lancôme fragrance notes include precious Iris accord with vibrant earthy notes of patchouli, sensual warm vanilla, and spun sugar, which are combined in this scent exclusively created by two of the most renowned French perfumers — Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion. La vie est belle has been the best-selling iconic fragrance in Lancôme’s historic market in France. “A floral gourmand bouquet encapsulated in a crystal smile“.
In 2022, Lancôme released a new vision of the elixir: La vie est belle Domaine de la Rose is truly le parfum du bonheur or the fragrance of happiness, embodying a new vision of happiness: the purest. The new 2022 is a limited edition made with unique roses handpicked and harvested sustainably from the Domaine in the South of France.

The roses in the area inspired the company’s logo, the rose imprinted to this day on all Lancôme products, as well as the cultivation of its very own signature rose in Grasse, the perfume capital of the world in the south of France, at the Domaine de la Rose, an ecological horticultural site spanning 9.8 acres (4 hectares) purchased in 2020.
Lancôme was founded in 1935 by Armand Petitjean and co-founder Guillaume d’Ornano in France. “Why did I create Lancôme?” said Petitjean one day, “Because I had seen that two American brands had taken control of the beauty industry. A French brand should be up alongside them.” Originally, Lancôme was a fragrance house. The name “Lancôme” was inspired by the Château de Lancosme in Vendoeuvres in the Indre region of France.
