No More “Bise” or Handshake in France

In France, the customary “faire la bise” greeting by kissing on the cheek as well as  “se serrer la main” handshakes have been discouraged as precautionary measures to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus as per French Health Minister Olivier Véran.

To help protect your health and that of others:

  • Wash hands with soaps regularly
  • Use hand sanitizer
  • Cough and sneeze in the elbow
  • Greet others without a handshake, kissing or hugs
  • Use disposable  kleenex
  • Wear a mask when sick
Other safety measures to avoid contamination and/or the spread of the virus include avoiding highly populated public areas and traveling.
