15th Annual Newport Beach Film Festival – French Spotlight

The 15th annual Newport Beach Film Festival runs April 24th – May 1st, 2014 and will spotlight over 300 films from around the world.

On Tuesday, April 29th, 2014 the 15th annual Newport Beach Film Festival (NBFF) will present its French Spotlight, an evening celebration of French cinema and culture. French Spotlight Event to Feature the Regional Premiere of ‘Attila Marcel’ Followed by a Celebration of French Culture, Fashion, and Music Newport Beach, Calif.  The event will feature the regional premiere of the award-winning film, Attila Marcel, followed by a festive post-screening gala. The Festival continues a proud tradition of presenting the very best in contemporary French cinema.

With Attila Marcel, Director Sylvain Chomet (The Triplets of BellevilleThe Illusionist) has crafted a wonderful French comedy” stated Gregg Schwenk, CEO Newport Beach Film Festival. Attila Marcel (2013, Comedy, France, 102 minutes) is a touching, whimsical, story of a 33-year-old piano virtuoso, Paul (Guillaume Gouix), who has been living with his controlling aunts (Bernadette Lafont and Hélène Vincent) since the death of his parents.  Mute since that tragic incident, Paul lives a solitary life, playing the piano mostly for the amusement of his aunts and their odd friends. When he accidentally stumbles into the apartment woman named Madame Proust (Anne Le Ny), the two begin a journey to delve into Paul’s memories and uncover his past. The French Spotlight NBFF 2014

The French Spotlight film will screen on: Tuesday, April 29th, 2014 at 7:30pm at Edwards Big Newport 300 Newport Center Drive  Newport Beach, CA 92660

The post-screening celebration will take place at Via Lido Plaza 3459 Via Lido, Newport Beach, CA 92663 Admission to the French Spotlight film Screening and the post-party is $40.00.

The evening will include several of Orange County’s top restaurants serving signature tastings, multiple DJs, live entertainment, hosted bar by Stella Artois and Tito’s Vodka and a special performance by Orange County Aerial Arts.
