Make Music Pasadena

Origins of Fête de la Musique

Fête de La Musique began in France in 1982, as a way to bring amateur and professional musicians together and to present free concerts nationwide.  Within a few years, it became one of the most successful French cultural events and was quickly taken up all over the world.  By the year 2007, there were more than 300 cities participating on five continents.  For more information on Fête de la Musique, click here.
