Saucisson sec is a favorite charcuterie and a staple classic French dry-cured sausage in French household served with baguette, butter, cornichons and a good glass of red wine.  The French equivalent of dry salami, saucissons are cured pork sausages. Taix French restaurant on Sunset Blvd is almost a landmark and an institution in Los Angeles! Here’s some history of this long-lived family affair. The Taix Family are the third and fourth generations of a family of sheepherders and bakers from the “Hautes-Alpes” in southeastern France who immigrated to Los Angeles around 1870!
