L’ Orchestre Symphonique Kimbanguiste, from the Democratic Republic of Congo will be making their very first historic appearance in the USA this coming Sunday, March 3rd at 9:00 A.M at the Crystal Cathedral! Their story is unbelievable!
The Orchestre Symphonique Kimbanguiste (OSK) is the only orchestra in Central Africa. It is an all-black Congolese orchestra located in Kinshasa founded by Conductor Armand Diangienda in 1994. The orchestra started with a dozen amateur musicians and performers and grew to about 200 members into a full orchestra and choir. German filmmakers Martin Baer and Claus Wischmann created the documentary Kinshasa Symphony depicting the plight of the orchestra and its members in poverty-stricken Kinshasa.
