For the first time in L.A. County Fair history, The Basque Village will take over a whole neighborhood for the weekend of September 16, 17, and 18 during the 2011 L.A. County Fair !
“The Basque Village is a compilation of Basque, French, and Spanish culture. This celebration of this old world culture will allow guests to explore the history of the Basque. Featuring 40 booths, a large stage for performances, outdoor dining and beautiful décor.
The Basque Village will feature daily themes, starting Friday off with
“Basque”. Basque people are well-known for their delicious food such as the Piment D’ Espelette, Gateau Basque especially Evelyne’s Gateau Basque and more.! Basque performers “Gauden Bat Dancers”from Chino Basque Club California and will include Odain Watson with a tribute to Basque Village.
Saturday will honor the French culture with delicious food by The
French Normandie Bakery and Café. Your sweet tooth will be
pleased with traditional tasty Napoleons, Eclairs, and many more
‘patisseries’. Also come Experience ”French Cancan ” live on
stage!
Last but not least, Sunday’s theme will celebrate the Basque culture’s strong Spanish influence from tapas, paella, and Flamenco entertainment. The Basque Market will provide a variety of Spanish dishes to choose from.
So many entertainers performing at the L.A. County Fair in honor of The Basque Village including: Pamela Clay interpreting Edith Piaf, Evyn Charles French Songs, Dei Ty special performance of ”Love Is Religion, The Anonymous , Johan and The Panache Band ‘s funky R &B classics and many, many more!!!
